True to its name, the Proto/GT Challenge features some of the most potent prototype and GT cars in the iRacing catalogue in an open setup series battle of sports car titans. Topping the list performance wise is the HPD ARX-01c which defined an era of sports car racing when LMP2 cars challenged and, at times, beat the theoretically faster LMP1 machines. It was an era when the Aston Martin DB9 and Corvette C6.R battled for GT1 supremacy from Sebring to LeMans even as the Ford GT brought back echoes of the epic Ford v Ferrari battles of the 1960s.
